Kingsbury Water Park offers numerous workshops throughout the October to keep your kids connected with the natural life around them in a fun and engaging way. Two workshops that stand out are ‘The Spooky Staffs’ and the ‘Teddy Bear Dens and Marshmallows at Kingsbury Water Park’. Both are priced at £5.70 for an hour and a half of practical fun for the kids. Outside of pre-bookable activities, entry to Kingsbury Water Park is free so make a full day out of the experience by following the trails, spending time in the two play areas and grabbing a bite to eat from the cafe.
Kids aged 8+ can go watch the popular book series Percy Jackson come to life on stage! The Lightning Thief - The Percy Jackson Musical is on stage here from the 14th - 18th October. Catch it on the 15th for the lowest cost, the 7pm showing on the 16th for a BSL Integrated performance or the 2pm showing on the 18th for the audio described performance.
For the classic October activity of pumpkin picking head over to Pumpkins R Us from the 4th October onwards. This site also has a terrific spooky shop and cafe! Book your timeslot on their website for a place. Or for a slightly spookier experience book onto the evening event which spans 7-10 pm.
Adventure World’s Halloween Spooktacular runs on weekends 11th - 12th, 18th - 19th and 25th–2nd November, from 10am to 5:30pm. Expect loads of family-friendly fun like pumpkin carving, a haunted cabin walk, a trick-or-treat village, magic shows, and even a laser combat zombie run for kids aged 8 and up. All activities are included in the price, making this a brilliant family day out.
Warwick Arts Centre offers a great mix of events this autumn and winter, including The Story Forge: Make Your Own Myth workshops for ages 7–12, running on 12th October at 11:30am and 2pm. Tickets are £12.50 per child. Bring your own lunch and enjoy live music designed especially for families. Or catch their annual free concert at 7pm on 15th October ‘Heroes And Villains’.
There are also free gallery exhibitions to explore, making it a brilliant budget-friendly day out. The Centre is open daily from 8:30am to 10pm.
