About

The Strings Club was founded in 2012 by professional violinist and teacher, Amy Cunningham.

Her aim was to give primary school children an opportunity to engage with music in a rewarding, enriching – but most of all fun way.

The very first Strings Club took place in Camden, London with just 6 children.

Since then, Amy has been devoted to creating inspiring music programmes for children and has gained national recognition for her work.

Prior to establishing The Strings Club, Amy studied Music at The University of Birmingham (BMus. Hons) followed by a postgraduate degree in Ethnomusicology at Goldsmiths College, The University of London (MMus).

Amy also worked for numerous recognised music services as well as a classroom music teacher – of which she taught over 250 children per week – from ages 4 – 18.
