Director of The Strings Club, Amy Cunningham Adds Another String To Her Bow with The Great British Entrepreneur Awards
Business leaders, mentors and entrepreneurs gathered at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham last night (November 16th), where The Strings Club director, Amy Cunningham, won the coveted NatWest Great British Small Business Entrepreneur Award.
Now in its fifth year, the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards recognise the hard work and inspiring stories of British entrepreneurs. Judges include Peter Roberts, founder of PureGym, and Toni Mascolo OBE, co-founder of Toni & Guy.
Founder of the NatWest Great British Entrepreneur Awards, Francesca James, said: “The winning entrepreneurs have made a huge impact on entrepreneurship in their region and the wider UK economy and we hope that winning an award will help give them the recognition they thoroughly deserve.”
Having worked as a violinist and teacher for over 10 years, Amy Cunningham set up The Strings Club in 2012 to offer a range of high-quality musical experiences for children aged four to 11. The music education company has grown from strength to strength and now operates within seven locations offering thousands of opportunities for children to enjoy high quality musical experiences every year.
Director Amy Cunningham, states “I am really honoured to have won this amazing award. Myself, my head office team plus everyone who works for The Strings Club have worked incredibly hard over the past 5 years – and to be recognised for this is wonderful. With a £1000 loan from The Princes Trust, I started this business 5 years ago because I believe every child should get the opportunity to be inspired by music. Winning this amazing award for what we have achieved in those 5 years makes me very proud and spurs me on to achieve even more in the next 5!”
Gordon Merrylees, Head of Entrepreneurship for NatWest, said: “We are incredibly proud to support these important awards. It has been so inspiring to see the number and calibre of entries this year, which proves that the entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in Birmingham.
In 2018 The Strings Club will continue to offer their range of award-winning music programmes. These include Ofsted-registered Holiday Camps, weekly Term Time Courses that work with the Royal Schools of Music, Ukulele parties plus a popular School Music Support Service. By booking before Friday 15th of December, customers will receive 15% off their total booking giving children something really worthwhile to look forward to for the New Year.
