What enables our award-winning Holiday Camps to stand proudly apart from other childcare providers is our passion and dedication in promoting the learning and development of all children in our care.
As part of our new #SaturdayCelebrations, today we will focus on one part of our “Four Key Areas of Development” – physical development.
So how do our Holiday Camps aid your child’s physical development?
Similarly to the school Early Years Foundation Stage (2012), our Ofsted-registered Holiday Camps also focus on the importance of physical development. According to “Start Active, Stay Active: A report on physical activity for health from the four home countries” (2011), children aged 4-11 are encouraged to take part in 180 mins of physical activity a day. What’s more we are asked regularly how on earth our music-based childcare can take into consideration on physical health however we do in many many ways and here’s just a few:
- Posture – during our morning instrumental lessons, our Course Leaders encourage all children to think of how they are sitting or standing whilst playing their instrument. Nice straight backs really do make a difference to the sound an instrument makes!
- Healthy Minds – each of our Holiday Camps has a healthy eating policy and this is something that is very important to us.
- Healthy Bodies – although every day is wonderfully different at our Holiday Camps, children always have two break times and an hour long lunch time where they are encouraged to get outside with their new friends and have fun!
