Easter is a couple of weeks away and we are getting very excited about what is in store!
Our amazing workshops at Easter are all based around the theme of “Spring to Life” and have all been carefully designed to get children active, have lots of fun and explore music with their friends.
Every day we have something new to experience with 10 unique workshops in total.
We tailor each one to ensure it has elements for EYFS right up to the top of primary school.
Each workshop takes place in our afternoons between 1:15pm – 4pm and compliment our high-quality small group instrumental classes that take place in the mornings 9.30am-12.30pm. All of which ensures that your child is engaged, happy and learning new skills from drop off to pick up.
Here’s the highlights of what your child can look forward to
Monday – Sport Beat, Easter egg hunt
Our Sport Beat workshop is centred around our annual and highly popular Easter Egg hunt, packed with high-octane games that will encourage your child to get active whilst taking inspiration from the musical world. They will need all their energy for this highly eggciting workshop!
Tuesday – Pieces of Me, Inside Out
Taking inspiration from the well-known children’s film “Inside Out”, we will be having a deeper look into what goes on inside our head by exploring various emotions and developing an understanding of different feelings. Creating their own feelings chart, children will then look at what they can do if they feel a bit sad, angry or worried.
Wednesday – Performarama, Peter and the Wolf
Children will be encouraged to listen to this amazing piece of music together and guess which instrument represents which character and why? We’ll think of how the characters are feeling alongside our own emotions about the piece particularly its open ending. Children will create their own masks to take home too!
Thursday – Big Jam Session, Stravinksy’s Rite of Spring
Stravinsky’s ballet and orchestral concert works Rite of Spring is jam packed full of jagged pulsating rhythms that depict various primitive rituals celebrating the advent of spring. Children will use their creative imaginations as we encourage them to improvise and create their own musical rhythms, all based around the Rite of Spring.
Friday – Imagination station, daffodils
Spring is in full bloom! Get into the sunny spirit this Easter by designing a beautiful daffodil to take home! Your child get super creative using different arts and craft materials including an egg box, some orange paint and some PVA glue. Let’s see their innate creativity kick in!
Our Holiday Camps for children aged 4-11 are running at Easter (8-12th in London, 15-18th in Birmingham) with half days from £20. If you’d like to find out more take a look at our Holiday Camps page.
