Celebrate autumn at our Holiday Camp creative workshops

Following the success of our Summer Holiday Camps, we are rolling smoothly on a high into Autumn, bringing plenty of magic, light and celebration. This is no time to hibernate, as we have got a week packed full of fun as we celebrate Diwali, Black British History, Day of the Dead and much much more. Don’t miss out, book now to get yourself a place at one of our multi award-winning Holiday Camps!

Monday – Diwali

There is no time to shiver and frown, it’s time to get active, keep warm and turn that frown upside down. In a cooler and darker season what better way to celebrate than Diwali, the festival of light. This wonderful South Asian festival promises plenty of sensory delights. The children will get the opportunity to choose from a range of activities including, creating a large Rangoli collage, Diwali themed sports activities and many more surprises in store.

Tuesday – Vivaldi

Rumour has it that this very talented C18th classical baroque composer’s favourite season was Autumn, so what better time to celebrate this Italian composers humble beginnings, musical journey and philanthropic work. The children will have the opportunity to listen and perform to Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’. Again there will be plenty of activities for the children to choose from in response to this magnificent composer.

Wednesday – Black British Celebrations

October is Black History Month, unfortunately black british history is not taught on our school curriculum and it’s so important to celebrate those who have not only paved the way for a better and brighter future, but it’s also great to acknowledge those who have achieved and made great contributions. In this celebratory session the children will have the opportunity to learn about Malorie Blackman (Children’s Laureate from 2013 to 2015), Sheku Kanneh-Mason (British cellist who won the 2016 BBC Young Musician of the Year award) and we’ll even be crafting our way to carnival. Team work makes the dream work!

Thursday – Day of the Dead

What better way to celebrate our loved ones, as we go on a magical journey to the afterlife. The children will have the opportunity to learn about this sacred Mexican holiday through singing, dancing, drama and arts and crafts. We will be resurrecting the 2017 Disney fantasy film Coco to bring this afternoon’s activities to life. This will be an afternoon to treasure for a lifetime.

Friday – The Strings Club Birthday Party!

The Strings Club turned 6 years old earlier this year and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to celebrate. In true birthday style we will be going all out! There will be opportunities for the children to make their own birthday hats and garlands, plenty of party games and music to last a lifetime. We love a party, we know you love a party, so let’s get excited in here as we cheer on another year!
