Relaxing Tracks for Adults - Our 5 Top Tracks

'Meditation No. 1' by Laraaji and Brian Eno:

This piece is a beautiful blend of sound that is perfect for those moments where you need to take a breather. The use of the zither makes this piece seem ethereal with its blurred, dream-like quality. The notes blend together and the use of repetition brings the mind into a more meditative state. Its peaceful ambience is perfect for when you need to rest your mind from any activities.

'Spiegel im Spiegel' by Arvo Pärt:

Pärt is known for being minimalist and uses a tintinnabular style which makes this piece very simple and calming. This version is with violin and piano, however there are multiple versions using different instruments. Translating as 'Mirror in the Mirror', Pärt conveys the idea of reflection and tranquillity. The simple bell-like quality makes for an extremely beautiful and relaxing piece, perfect for lazing around and de-stressing. As a violinist myself, I find this piece absolutely beautiful.

'Electra' by Airstream:

Scientifically proven to be the second most relaxing piece ever, this piece is perfect as background music for when you need to do simple tasks. It builds from a serene slow pace into a more upbeat vibe and its simplicity in notes allows you to relax into it without being disturbed by any sudden changes.

1st movement of 'Moonlight Sonata' by Ludwig van Beethoven:

One of Beethoven's most well-known pieces, and a timeless classic, this gorgeous piano piece lulls you into a relaxed state with its beautiful melodic lines over the repetitive arpeggiated triads. Perfect for reading a book or doing a crossword, this piece is sure to ease your mind.

Binaural Beats:

Binaural beats are a type of sound illusion that use different frequencies to help you improve productivity, concentration, relaxation, sleep and many more. This example I have chosen specifically produces frequencies that increases productivity, so if you find it hard to relax, this is perfect to have in the background while you work, and you may find you get your work done much faster! There are many other types of Binaural Beats and you can easily search them up emphasising what you would like to improve.
