Kids gain confidence at The Strings Club holiday camps - the reviews are in!

The Strings Club gets some amazingly positive feedback from parents and one word that comes up quite often is how kids are more "confident" after attending our holiday camps. Hearing that a child "really came out of their shell" during the camp experience is something we love to hear as this boosted self-esteem will carry on long after camp finishes.

Here are some of the ways we help kids become more confident:

Activities Structured to Put Kids at Ease and Create Bonds

We asked our Activities Manager Lucy Hoy how the bespoke, creative and interactive timetables she creates help encourage confidence.

"Most of the workshops are small-group based, so the children can get to know a smaller group within the camp during the session, but then at the end of the workshop they come together. This can support building their confidence within the group. Also I like to include a lot of ice breaker and warm up games in the camps, which helps them open up and get to know each other a bit, in a fun and relaxed way."

Music Creates Social Connection and Belonging

Music has a unique power to bring people together and our days are packed with music-themed fun! Participating in music-related activities like singing as a group or playing instruments together fosters a sense of belonging and community. These shared experiences create connections, promoting mental and emotional wellbeing.

Music as an Expressive Outlet

Music possesses the remarkable ability to tap into our emotions and express what words often fail to convey. Music acts as a conduit for emotional expression. Many children find it freeing to express themselves through music, which makes them feel more confident.

New Friendships Give a Confidence Boost

Our camp staff witness the lovely friendships that form at The Strings Club camps. Two kids who entered the camp as strangers make a connection and before you know it are best buddies, thriving in each other's company and feeling the glow of confidence that comes from how new friendship feels. They like you and want to be with you, you are great!

Lots of Little Wins Throughout Camp

Throughout the day at The Strings Club kids will learn new skills, achieve things they didn't know they could do before, start and complete creative projects and work as a team to blast through challenges. The camp activities and supportive staff give kids hit after hit of feeling accomplishment and the realisation of "Hey I CAN do this" that has them leaving feeling a bolder person willing to try more new things.

Encouraging and Supportive Camp Staff

Our camp staff are a warm, welcoming bunch who champion kids all day and help them do and feel their best. We often get reviews from parents that mention camp staff members by name as the kids have come home raving about them. They help the kids feel safe and confident!
