After finally reopening its doors after many long years of renovations, the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is a must see!

2) Wild Makers Studio – Midlands Arts Centre (MAC), 22 July–26 August 2026
Perfect for curious kids who love creating, experimenting and getting hands-on, Wild Makers Studio at Midlands Arts Centre is one of the most exciting creative activities for children in Birmingham this summer.
Every Wednesday during the summer holidays, families are invited to explore, paint, print, build and sculpt using natural, recycled and foraged materials including clay, willow, wood, fabric and nature paints.
Designed for children aged 3+, these relaxed and imaginative sessions encourage children to follow their own ideas while connecting with nature through creativity.
With Cannon Hill Park right on the doorstep, it’s a great way to turn a workshop into a full family day out.
3) Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Multiple Events, Multiple Dates
Got some more adventurous kids? Well, every Wednesday of the summer holidays, the Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston are running Animal Handling events with a plethora of furry and scaly friends!

4) Peppa Pig Space Adventure - NEC, Multiple Dates
More suitable for those with younger children and who are fans of the playful pink pig, the Peppa Pig Space Adventure at the NEC has got to be on your radar.
An interactive experience where the kids get to walk through Peppa’s iconic home, fly into space, and even meet the pink piglet!
The event is open for the entire summer holidays, so you will have plenty of time and flexibility to fit it into your busy schedules, plus the entire NEC is at your doorstep!
5) Dinosaur Adventure Live: Danger on T-Rex Mountain - The Core Theatre Solihull, 28th July 2026
Experience a prehistoric adventure with some knowledgeable park rangers, from feeding baby dinosaurs, and learning cool facts about all kinds of prehistoric lizards! But be careful; if you’re sitting too close to the front, you might be getting friendly with an enormous T-Rex! An informative and thrilling afternoon out, and also close to other amenities in Solihull so you can make a day out of it.
