Warwickshire Libraries are going a little spooky this half term with Reading Screams, a series of free, Halloween-themed sessions for children aged 4–11. There are storytelling, creative activities and hands-on crafts, with different libraries hosting sessions throughout the week.

For example, Leamington Library is hosting a session on Monday 26 October, while Kenilworth, Stratford-upon-Avon, Coleshill, Southam and Lillington all have sessions later in the week. They’re drop-in and free, although places are subject to availability.

It’s a fun way to bring together food, creativity and a little Halloween magic, without relying on sweets and plastic decorations.

Sessions are taking place at several Warwickshire libraries during half term, including Alcester Library on Tuesday 27 October and Stockingford Early Years Centre and Library on Thursday 29 October. The workshops are free and aimed at children aged 4–11.
