Five Ofsted Inspections. Five Strong Standards. A Summer to Celebrate.

The Strings Club celebrates five Ofsted inspections, five safeguarding standards met and five Strong Standard judgements across its holiday camps this summer.

This summer, five of The Strings Club’s children’s Holiday Camps welcomed Ofsted inspectors, giving us the opportunity to see our approach to children’s care, wellbeing, inclusion and leadership through fresh eyes.

We’re incredibly proud that, across those five inspections, our camps received five Strong Standard judgements across three locations, alongside meeting the required safeguarding standards at every inspection.

A little context

Ofsted’s latest data shows that 29% of out-of-school day care inspections achieved Strong for children’s welfare and wellbeing, while 26% achieved Strong for leadership and governance.

So to receive Strong Standard in both of these areas at The Strings Club’s Leamington Spa Holiday Camp is something we’re particularly proud of.

Inspectors also awarded the Leamington Spa camp Strong Standard for inclusion, making it three Strong Standard judgements from one inspection.

What did Ofsted see?

For us, the most meaningful part of an Ofsted report is often what inspectors see and hear from the children themselves.

At Crouch End, inspectors found that “children display consistently positive attitudes towards activities. They concentrate, persevere when challenges arise and encourage their friends.”

At Blackheath, they recognised that “inclusion is at the heart of the club’s practice.”

At Leamington Spa, “children thrive in this caring and inclusive environment, where their welfare and happiness come first.”

At Greenwich, “children feel safe, happy and supported at the club.”

And at Harborne, inspectors observed that “children spontaneously sing, dance, laugh and share their achievements with staff”, reflecting the confidence and security they feel at the club.

Five camps. Five reports. Lots to celebrate.

Every inspection gives us something to celebrate, something to reflect on and, importantly, something to keep improving.

Because behind every Ofsted report are the people who make our Holiday Camps what they are: our brilliant teams, welcoming children each morning and creating environments where they can feel safe, make friends, build confidence and enjoy the joys and benefits of music.

We’re proud of the Strong Standards recognised across our camps, but even more proud of what sits behind them: the teams who get to know each child, the thoughtful adaptations that help every child participate, and the moments of music, creativity, friendship and confidence that make a holiday at The Strings Club what it is.

Because ultimately, it’s how children feel that matters most:

• Safe enough to join in.
• Supported enough to ask for help.
• Included enough to feel they belong.
• Confident enough to try something new.
• Happy enough to come back.
  

Five Ofsted inspections this summer gave us five more reasons to be proud of the people behind our camps, and the experience they create for every child.

And we’re not stopping there.
