Your child’s development is key

What enables our award-winning Holiday Camps to stand proudly apart from other childcare providers is our passion and dedication in promoting the learning and development of all children in our care.

Through our carefully planned timetable that hosts a range of high quality engaging activities, we aim to guide the development of every child’s capabilities and skills on a daily basis to ensure that they truly benefit from our Ofsted registered Holiday Camps.

Our Four Key Areas of Development

Every Holiday Camp focuses on our “Four Key Areas of Development” that we believe are particularly crucial in igniting your child’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, for building their capacity to learn and form relationships. These include:

Feb Half Term Workshops: “All You Need Is Love”

Still thinking of childcare this Feb Half Term? Looking for some exciting workshops for your child to take part in?

Look no further than our amazing workshops this Feb Half Term – all based around the theme of “Love” and designed to develop your child in more ways than one.

Our Feb Half Term workshops have all been carefully designed by high experienced primary school teacher and owner of well-being company “Colour your World”, Rachel Ashcroft.

Each workshop takes place in our afternoons between 1:15pm – 4pm and compliment our high-quality small group instrumental classes that take place in the mornings (except Friday where our Grand Concert takes place at 3:15pm)

Imagination Station

In honour of our weekly theme of “love”, we start off our week with a super special workshop making our very own Valentine cards for someone special. Your child will make their very own valentine card and will be inspired to create their own love poems too!

Join us on Monday 12th (London) – Monday 19th (Bham)

Music In Motion

Continuing our week of positivity and love, this is a chance for your child to express themselves through movement! Whilst listening to ‘She Loves You’ and ‘Here Comes The Sun’ by The Beatles, the children will explore how the two songs of different tempo make them feel, their similarities and differences and whether this has an impact on the kinds of movements they choose.

Join us on Tuesday 13th (London) – Tuesday 20th (Bham)

Meet the Composer: John Lennon

This week, we are particularly focusing on the music of The Beatles and the message of peace and love that John Lennon shared. Your child will then design their own instrument and think about the message that they would want to share with the world as famous musicians!

Join us on Tuesday 13th (London) – Tuesday 20th (Bham)

Where is the love? With our hearts full of kindness, we will listen to this Black Eyed Peas number 1 song before creating our very own ‘positive message’ song. Whether in the form of a rap or a song, this is your child’s chance to be creative and get their message across! Smaller children will have the option to sing and perform ‘How Far I’ll go’ from Disney’s Moana.

Join us on Wednesday 14th  (London) – Wednesday 21st (Bham)

Pieces of Me

All aboard the Self-Esteem Train! With recent reports claiming that on average 3 children in a class suffer with their mental health, it is widely recognised that mental wellbeing needs addressing. The Strings Club have collaborated with ‘Colour Your World Ltd’ to create a fun-filled afternoon of confidence boosting, learning resilience and ways to effectively manage anxiety through mindfulness.

Join us on  Wednesday 14th  (London) – Wednesday 21st (Bham)

Sounds and Colours

People all over the world – join hands! In this workshop, children will listen to ‘Love Train’ and discuss it’s message and instruments they can hear before creating their very own image/poster of unity, solidarity and love. But not before having a dance and forming our own Strings-Train around the room!

Join us on Thursday 15th (London) – Thursday 22nd (Bham)

Fantastic ukulele-making workshop!

Challenge: to make 65 ukuleles using only plastic butter tubs, fishing wire and pieces of plywood. Impossible, right? Wrong! 22-1

Our talented kids over at our Hampstead and Harborne summer camps this week have had great fun making some rather unconventional instruments! Back by popular demand, this workshop is always one of our most exciting and unique sessions.

Guided by Steve Nutter and Nick Penny, our happy campers spent the morning designing, creating and personalising their ukuleles, while the afternoon was dedicated to a grand playing session in which a whole host of funky songs were learnt. The day concluded with a fantastic concert which demonstrated their new ukulele skills.

A brilliant day was had by all!

3rd Birthday Celebrations!

Look how far we’ve come in three years! It’s hard to believe that we’ve accomplished so much since 2012, but we’ve had a fantastic journey!

The Strings Club has gone from strength to strength. Over the past 3 years, we’ve helped nearly 1,500 children discover a love for music either taking part in our award winning term-time courses or at our holiday camps.
This year’s highlights include the opening of a brand new summer camp in Balham, and our new term-time courses in Bournville, starting this September. There’s just no stopping us! And there’s much more to come this autumn and beyond to look forward to including a brand new website and – launching in the New Year – Strings Club tots for 3 year olds!
We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to all the parents and super-talented children who supported and helped make The Strings Club the business we are today!
So to celebrate The Strings Club turning 3, next week’s summer camps will include a special afternoon birthday party full of fun and games, so you can celebrate with us.
There’s still time to book for next week at all locations: BrockleyHarborne and Hampstead.
And finally, keep your eyes peeled next week for our Big 3rd Birthday Competition on Facebook– with different prizes to be won daily!
Prizes include CBSO and Southbank Sinfonia tickets, back-to-school packs, Frozen sheet music, and maybe even a instrument or two!
