Help us to inspire 25k children in 2018!

Back in 2012 I was living and working as a music teacher in North London after qualifying from Goldsmiths University. I really wanted to do something different, to help children take their first step to enjoying something so wonderful and exciting as learning an instrument. That summer I ran a holiday activity club for local children in Camden, everyone loved it and at the end the parents asked me when the next one would be and where they could sign up! That was when The Strings Club was born!

After 6 years The Strings Club is now offering more opportunities for children to enjoy high quality musical experiences across London than ever before which makes me very proud.

I have a real passion for music

Our ethos is simple really – we want all children to be inspired by music. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I have a real passion for music. Becoming a mum gave me a new perspective and amplified everything. What has become particularly pertinent is the powerful impact music can have on a child’s development – from confidence to overall well-being to educational attainment. It can have a profound impact on a child’s life. That is why I began all those years ago and why I want to do so much more for all the little ones out there.

Help us spread the word

Recommendations and word of mouth are the strongest way to spread our passion for music education as far and wide as possible. So if you think you know a mum, dad, grandparent or guardian that will love The Strings Club for their child, please let them know. When you see our tweets, posts and pics please share and like.

As a special incentive we will offer you a free day at a Holiday Camp* of your choice. All you need to do is recommend us to a friend and when they book with us your special thank you gift is yours**

All your friend has to do is mention your name when they call to book and can do so by ringing 0121 296 9204.

This offer is valid for as many new people you would like to recommend to us. So if you recommend 5 new people and they all book with us, then you will get a 5 free days at a Holiday Camp – that’s a week of free childcare!

Thank you for your support and here is to a hugely successful 2018 for all of us!

Our amazing area ambassadors!

We’re privileged  to be supported by some passionate people around the country – people who really understand who we are and what we are trying to achieve. Recently we’ve been very lucky to be able to appoint 2 Ambassadors who help us spread the word in their local area; Tembi and Fanny.

If you’d like to be an ambassador where you live please get in touch with us!

Tembi – Sutton Coldfield

Having graduated from the Birmingham School of Acting, Tembi currently works as a freelance actress as well as working as a Party Trainer for The Strings Club. Tembi has a real passion for The Strings Club and their Ukulele Gurus parties and loves nothing more than leading a party herself. Having over 50 Ukulele Guru parties under her talented belt, Tembi looks forward to her role as Party Trainer, especially in ensuring the quality of every Ukulele Gurus party is absolutely amazing!

Fanny – South East London

Originally from France, Fanny is a trained actress who’s lived in London for over 15 years. After graduating from drama school, she created her own theatre company for which she acts and produces shows, the latest being nominated for an Off West Awards. She also developed its education branch, creating drama classes and language workshops for children. Specialised in multilingualism, she had taught in many schools and after school clubs across London.

She first came across the Strings Club while looking for a holiday activity for her now 6 year old daughter few years ago. After hearing her wonderful feedback and her urge to get a Ukulele from Father Christmas, she jumped on the occasion to learn about how the Strings Club could be so enjoyable and fulfilling by working with them.
She believes “being part of the Strings Club for a term or just a holiday camp is a skill for life and feels parents in South East London must know about it!”.

Help us

Do you have a passion for music? Do you care about children’s education? Would you like to inspire children through music? We’d be very excited to speak to you about how you can help in your local area.

Congratulations to our Music Maestros!

Congratulations to our Music Medal maestros who have passed their Music Medal awards this Autumn with flying colours.

Children enrolled onto a Term Time Course with The Strings Club reaped the rewards of all their hard work and practice by receiving a prestigious Music Medal award this month.

Let’s say a huge congratulations to Harsumrhath, Jack, Alex and Moses for passing their Bronze Music Medal award.

Founder Amy quotes, “We’re incredibly proud to be partners with Music Medals, a fantastic award scheme established and run by the Associated Board of The Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Seeing children as young as 6 achieve a Music Medal is fantastic to see and we aim for every child to reach Platinum level (equivalent to Grade 4 and a GCSE A*) by the time they leave us. Well done everyone!”

Unlike the sometimes intimidating and formalised setting of a Grade exam, Music Medals assessments are based at our Strings Club venues, an environment your child will know well and be comfortable in, helping to offer the best opportunity for your child to achieve.

Each Music Medal incorporates:

  • an ensemble-based piece,
  • a solo piece
  • a short musicianship test

Starting with Copper and moving up progressively to a Platinum (equivalent to GCSE A* and ABRSM Grade 4 standard), Music Medals honour and celebrate the skills your child has learnt.
