Winner – Start Up Business of 2013!

The Strings Club has beaten hundreds of businesses to be named Nectar Business Start-up of the Year 2013, by a panel of judges including star of BBC1’s The Apprentice, Karren Brady.  lz9gwyw3nproe2hhhih6

The Strings Club provides instrumental courses for children from aged four  to 12. The company won the Start-Up of the Year award, thanks to its demonstration of on-going success and nationwide expansion that is testament to the high quality of tuition given from term-time courses to holiday camps to in-school sessions.

Karren Brady stated: “The Strings Club’s proven excellence is confirmed by its high level of both referral and repeat business. To date, the company’s success has solely come from focussing on the children and holiday-club industries in and around Birmingham and London, which means that there is scope for expansion into other markets…. The Strings Club has great room for growth. This is also in part thanks to the company’s proven excellence, which is confirmed by the high level of both referral and repeat business.”

Founder of The Strings Club, Amy Cunningham will also have the opportunity to receive face-to-face business advice from Karren Brady, at the Nectar Business Round Table event, which forms part of the Awards ceremony and will take place on 4 September. Amy Cunningham commented: “I am delighted that we have won the Start-up of the Year award. I plan to put the prize money and Nectar points towards purchasing more instruments for our Strings Club Hire Scheme, so that parents don’t have the expanse of buying an instrument for their child to have music lessons!”

James Frost, Marketing Director at Nectar said: “This year we’ve seen a real increase in entry quality and diversity. Businesses vying for a Nectar Business Small Business Award have been more competitive than ever before. The Start-up of the Year prize was awarded to The Strings Club as it is an exceptional new business that demonstrated excellence, innovation and growth potential. We congratulate Amy and the team on their success.”
