Benefits of Group Learning and Performing -

Our courses focus on small group performing, ensuring that each member receives the individual attention they deserve. Our intermediate courses provide valuable support for those already having lessons elswhere. Taking part in musical activities such as The Strings Club from an early age has endless proven benefits for your child's learning, including:

  • language and literacy skills (e.g., vocabulary, comprehension, listening, expression)
  • social and emotional development;
  • mathematics and pattern-recognition skills,

That's why our courses combine the best music learning methods found in Kodaly, Suzuki and traditional notation-reading.

We believe that anyone who plays an instrument should perform as much as they can. We offer great opportunities to perform in our end of course concerts for family and friends. High Quality of Teaching

The Strings Club is run by Amy Cunningham (BMus, MMus) who holds valuable experience running successful string workshops for children and adults of all levels. All staff undergo key enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checks and are highly qualified in teaching strings. More information on our course tutors here.

Size of Classes      

To facilitate interaction and give every member a fair amount of attention, we have a maximum of 15 per class. This way we can really tailor our great courses to everyones needs!

What instrument can you learn to play at The Strings Club?

Depending on location, we currently offer courses in violin, cello, guitar and, ukulele - from complete beginners up to grade 5 standard.  Check out our courses HERE!

Do I need to buy an instrument before starting any course or can I hire one?

You can hire an instrument from us for a highly competitve price - and if you would like to purchase the instrument for your child at the end of the courses, you can do for a great price!

Can I drop in to a session with my child?

Please inform us if you are going to come to a session. The courses are structured so that in each session, you build new skills on the ones you already have. In other words, each lesson builds on from the last!

What are your different classes - Caterpillar, Chrysalis and Butterfly?

Our different classes present varying levels of ability - from Caterpillar (Level 1) to Chrysalis (Level 2) to Butterfly (level 3). The Strings Club is about motivating and encouraging our members to become better players, to have shared aims for everyone. You'll be amazed what your child and our Strings Club tutors can achieve!

There isn't a Strings Club in my area?

Not to worry! We are always looking to venture further afield!
